9 a.m. – Ohio started bright and early today with a surprise signing of 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive lineman Tarell Basham, a 2 star recruit (Rivals.com) from Rocky Mount, Va. Basham played last season for Hargrave Military Academy.

Ohio announced the signing of Quentin Poling, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker from Elida High School in Lima, Ohio. Poling is rated 2 stars by recruiting service 247Sports.com.

Mason Morgan, a 3 star (247Sports.com) tight end from Sycamore High School in Cincinnati signed his letter of intent for Ohio. Morgan is 6-foot-6, 230 pounds and is ranked the 72nd overall tight end in the 2013 class by 247Sports.com.

Trent Smart of Clinton-Massie High School in Wilmington, Ohio, has signed with the Bobcats. Smart is a 6-foot-4-inch 240 pound defensive end and is rated 2 stars by Rivals.com and 247Sports.com. Smart is the second defensive lineman to sign today and joins two JUCO defensive lineman already signed for the 2013 class.

Brendan Cope of Howland High School in Wilmington, Ohio, has signed with Ohio. He is the fifth player to sign on National Signing Day. Howland is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound wide receiver who runs a 4.45 40-yard-dash.

Justin Wyatt, a 3 star recruit and the 130th overall receiver in the 2013 class according to ESPN.com, is the latest to join Ohio’s 2013 class. Wyatt is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, and he played at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Ga., where he was named First Team All-Region. We interviewed Wyatt earlier this season.

10 a.m. – Ohio adds its second tight end to the 2013 class with the official signing of Troy Mangen. Magnen, 6-foot-5, 237 pounds, played at Northmount High School in Union, Ohio. 247Sports.com lists him as a two-star tight end. Ohio is adding a lot of size in this class.

Ohio signed its first offensive lineman on the day in 6-foot-3, 325-pound Durrell Wood, also listed by some as Durrell Bristol. Wood played for the Groveport Madison Cruisers and is from Columbus, Ohio. Wood is ranked as a 2 star recruit by 247Sports.com and will look to help make up for the three starting offensive lineman the 'Cats lost to graduation.

Ohio signs its third defensive lineman on the day in Tyree Graves from Pinellas Park High School in Clearwater, Fla. Graves, rated 2 stars by 247sports is the ninth signing on the day for the 'Cats. Graves is listed at 6-foot-3-inches and 230 pounds.

11 a.m. – Ohio adds its first defensive back to the 2013 class with the signing of Corey Quallen, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety. He is rated as a 3 star recruit by 247Sports.com. Quallen is the sixth in-state signing on the day and the fourth defensive player in the 2013 class so far. 

Ohio signed a pair of Fork Union Military Academy defensive backs in Jarid Brown and DyQuan Stewart. Brown, a 6-foot, 185-pound athlete, was rated as a 2 star prospect (ESPN.com) before spending the 2013 season at Fork Union, a prep academy in Virginia. Stewart, who comes in at 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, also originally ranked as a 2 star recruit for the 2012 recruiting class (247Sports.com). We did a story on Fork Union graduates Skyler Allen, Jelani Wosely and Jamil Shaw in November.

Ohio signed First Team All-State defensive end Casey Sayles from Nebraska. Sayles, a 6-foot-4 265-pounder with a 4.7 second 40-yard dash, played at Omaha North High School, where he also caught passes as a tight end. A 2 star recruit, Sayles keeps the Ohio-Nebraska recruiting pipeline alive that head coach Frank Solich has worked hard at building over eight seasons. Sayles is the sixth defensive signing for the 2013 class so far and the 15th overall counting previously signed JUCO defensive lineman Cameron McLeod of Jones County Community College in Ellisville, Miss., and Watson Tautuiaki out of Los Angeles Harbor Comunity College.

Noon – Ohio signs running back Dorian Brown, a 2 star recruit out of Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh. The Pensylvania running back stands 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, and runs a 4.4 second 40-yard dash, according to Rivals.com. Brown is the first running back to officially join the Bobcats' 2013 class.

Ohio adds wide receiver Cerdric Brown, a 6-foot-1 3 star from the state of West Virginia. Brown (Martinsburg) is the third overall recruit in West Virginia, according to 247Sports.com. He played in the Sempter Fidelis All-American Bowl in Orange County, Calif., last month.

Defensive lineman Tony Porter (Lawrenceville, Ga.) inks his name for Ohio's 2013 class. A 2 star recruit, Porter adds size to Ohio's interior defense at 6-foot, 280 pounds. Ohio now has seven defensive line commits.

Leon Alexander, a 2 star safety (247Sports.com) from Martin Luther King High School in Michigan, signs with Ohio. Standing at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, the Detroit native bolsters a secondary that will include three new Bobcats in 2013.

2 p.m. – Ohio has added in-state offensive linemen Tate Leavitt (Sheridan) and Zach Murdock (Dublin Coffman). Leavitt is a 2 star recruit, standing a full 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, while Murdock is a 3 star recruit standing at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds. The two join Wood as the second and third offensive line commits to officially join the Bobcats.
