Doug McCabe talks with Janet Carleton

On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, Doug McCabe talks with Janet Carleton, the Digital Initiatives coordinator at Ohio University’s Alden Library.

McCabe and Carleton discuss the life and times of Maggie Boyd, Ohio University’s first female undergraduate.

Having graduated in 1873, Boyd kept a detailed diary of her day-to-day life in Athens and beyond.

Boyd will be the focus of this year’s Founders Day celebration at Ohio University on Monday, Feb. 18

Over the last year, Carleton and Alden Library have been working to bring Maggie Boyd’s story into the 21st century.

Boyd’s life story can now be experienced through a Twitter feed, a Pinboard, and a blog.
