UPDATE 2:10 P.M. An Albany man faces three felony charges after police say he fired shots within the city limits of Athens.
According to Athens police Lt. Anthony Fish, 35-year-old Steven Vance is charged with one count of discharging a weapon from a public roadway and two counts of tampering with evidence.
Vance allegedly fired off five rounds near the East State Street and Morris Avenue area early Wednesday morning.
Vance is being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.
An Albany man is in custody after firing five shots off East State Street early Wednesday morning.
Athens Police say they arrested Steven Vance, 35, around 1:20 a.m. without incident.
Vance allegedly fired the shots about an hour earlier in the area of East State Street and Morris Avenue.
Lieutenant Anthony Fish says police recovered a Hi-Point nine millimeter handgun a couple blocks from the scene.
No injuries have been reported.
Police are still determining the charges against Vance.
