The Ohio University Women’s Indoor Track and Field team had five top-10 finishes, including a conference championship record, on day one at the MAC Indoor Championships.
Ohio’s Chanda Cuckler finished seventh in the Pentathlon. Morgan Reichert and Kayla Scott added a pair of top-10 finishes for the Bobcats in the 5000m run, finishing ninth and tenth respectively.
But the big event of the day for Ohio was the 4000m Distance Medley Relay. Not only did Ohio win the event for the third straight year, it broke the MAC Championship record by 12.28 seconds and set a new school record.
The team of Melissa Thompson, Kiley Mathews, Danielle Winningham, and Juli Accurso combined for a time of 11:26.80.
Ohio will compete in the second day of the competition Saturday when the MAC Indoor Championships conclude. The Bobcats sit in eighth place after the conclusion of Day One.
