The pair discuss upcoming arts events in Athens County, such as the 2013 Nelsonville Music Festival, Ratha Con and Aquabear Legion activities.
Since 2005, the Nelsonville Music Festival has grown from a mostly local gathering on the town's public square to a renowned fest that attracts music fans from around the world. This year's festival, which features a diverse lineup of top-notch talent, including Wilco, John Prine, Mavis Staples, Calexico, Sharon Van Etten and Jonathan Richman, will be held May 30-June 2 at Hocking College.
Based in Athens, Aquabear Legion is a collective of Ohio musicians and artists. Since 2004, the group has worked with over 150 bands and dozens of artists and filmmakers from around the state, releasing compilations of music, putting on shows and events and covering Ohio music at www.aquabearlegion.com.
Ratha Con is a comic, sci-fi and fantasy convention held in Athens, Ohio, featuring comics vendors, panel discussions, costume contests and more. This year's convention will be held Saturday, May 11 at the Athens Community Center.
