Lady Bulldogs Capture District Title

The Athens Lady Bulldogs defeated the Jackson Ironladies 45-44 in a thriller to capture a district title. The victory marks the 22nd for the Athens on the year, the best season in Lady Bulldogs history.

 
Dominique Doseck led the way for Athens with 19 points and four steals. Emma Stanley also helped lead the way as she with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Stanley also helped shut down Jackson’s leader Lydia Poe as she only had 10 points. 
 
Doseck also came up big for the team tonight as she hit the only three for the Bulldogs late in the game to tie the score and set up Athens' final run.
 
The Lady Bulldogs move on to the regional semifinals, where they take on Fairfield Union on March 5 at Zanesville High School. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
