Ohio softball catcher Lauren Gellerman earns her second conference award of the season as she is named MAC East Player of the Week. It is the fifth award for the team so far this season.
Last week, Gellerman was the most productive player for the 'Cats on offense, hitting .571 in five games. She had eight hits, two of the hits were doubles and three were home runs. She also drove in a team high 9 RBI.
Thursday night the San Diego, Calif. native made Bobcat history after hitting her 28th career home run to become Ohio's all-time home runs leader. After the two over the weekend, her current total is 30.
Ohio will take the field again on Friday for a double-header at Dayton. First pitch of the day is set for 2 p.m.
