The State rested its case in the trial of a 76-year-old Glouster man accused of sexually molesting five girls.

The defense will put on its case Wednesday morning after a week and a half of prosecutors calling witnesses to testify against Thomas E. Shifflet.

Shifflet is facing three counts of gross sexual imposition, one count of rape, and one count of sexual imposition.

Shifflet's attorney has been trying to raise doubts about the credibility of the alleged victims since day one.

The alleged victims were between the ages of three and 12 at the time of the reported incidents in 2010.

The defense says they intend to call several witnesses to the stand to testify on behalf of Shifflet.
