Huntington Man Fires Shots At Local Police

A man wanted in connection with an attempted murder case led officers on a chase and fired shots at them.

Emmanuel Lopez,20, of Huntington was arrested Sunday night.

Police said he ran from officers after being spotted at Marcum Terrace and there was an exchange of gunfire.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police say Lopez later surrendered and was arrested.

He is wanted for a February shooting on 20th Street.

Police said Lavonta Burrell shot at an SUV and Lopez shot back at him.

In 2011 Lopez was charged with malicious wounding.

Lopez currently faces charges of wanton endangerment and possession with intent to deliver.

He is being held in the Western Regional Jail.
