On the third and final day of the 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championships, just one Bobcat was still competing. Cody Walters (174 lbs.), garnering his new All-American title, claimed eighth place.

Walters competed in the seventh place match against Jordan Blanton of Illinois, but he fell to Blanton, 4-3.

Blanton got an early take down to go up on Walters, 2-0. Walters responded with a reversal and the two went into the second period tied, 2-2. Blanton then earned an escape and entered the final period with the lead, 3-2. In the third period, Walters earned an escape to tie the match, 3-3, but Blanton was awarded a point for 1:06 of ride time and took the victory.

Walters finished his season with a 39-5 record. He became the first Ohio wrestler to ever finish eighth at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.

No other Bobcats placed at the tournament, but Jeremy Johnson (285 lbs.) made it to the round of 12. With one more win he would have placed. Johnson was eliminated from competition Friday, along with Phil Wellington (197 lbs.), and Sparty Chino (157 lbs.).

KeVon Powell (125 lbs.) was eliminated from competition on Thursday.

At the conclusion of the tournament on Saturday, Ohio had 16 team points, which gave it a 27th place finish.
