The Ohio University Board of Trustees is expected to give final approval to five major capital improvement projects on the Athens campus Friday.

The projects total more than $38 million dollars.

The board is expected to approve a $20 million project as part of phase one of the Housing Development Plan for the South Green.

The funds would be used for construction management, utility relocations and material purchases.

Construction crews are ready to start building a $12.5 million multi-purpose pavilion this summer once the board gives final approval to the project.

Other projects include turf replacement to the Pruitt Track and Field, the second phase of the Athena classroom renovations and electrical and safety upgrades to Brown Hall.
