A lawyer stripped of her leading role in a legal challenge to Gov. John Kasich's private job-creation agency won't be allowed to remain involved in the case against JobsOhio.

The Ohio Supreme Court's decision Wednesday resolves a running feud between attorney Victoria Ullmann and former employer ProgressOhio, a liberal think tank.

Ullmann alleged ProgressOhio forged a suspicious alliance with the libertarian 1851 Center for Constitutional Law designed to undermine the lawsuit's chances.

Justices denied Ullmann a continuing role in the case and also her request that center executive director Maurice Thompson provide proof of ethical conduct.

ProgressOhio replaced Ullmann with Thompson in what it said was an attempt to show broad nonpartisan interest in the case.

The court has yet to rule on ProgressOhio's standing to sue JobsOhio.
