Ohio tight end Jordan Thompson announced on his personal Twitter account that he is headed to Kansas City Chiefs rookie camp.

“Let the journey begin!” Thompson tweeted. “I am Kansas City bound.”

Thompson missed the majority of last season with torn ligaments in his knee, his MCL. He was injured in Ohio’s game at Buffalo on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

Thompson made Second Team All-MAC in 2010 as well as Academic All-MAC. Thompson had eight receptions for 95 yards and one touchdown before hurting his knee last season.

The season prior, Thompson led Ohio tight ends with 24 receptions, 258 yards and two touchdowns.

Note: A version of this article published on May 9, 2013, has been changed to indicate Thompson tore just his MCL, not his ACL and MCL as mentioned in the previous version.
