The Wayne National Forest is putting new restrictions on activities that include camping, hunting and boating to protect the forest's natural resources.

A spokesperson says an order signed April 30 is intended to protect both the park's natural resources and visitors.

The prohibitions affect campfires, off-highway vehicle operation, camping, hunting, boating and other activities.

Rules limit campers to staying 14 days within any 30-day period and prohibit mass camping involving more than eight people and three camping units at a site. New restrictions also apply to alcohol, drugs, public nudity and fireworks.

Violators could face heavy fines.

A complete list is available at the national forest's website.
