Kentucky Cybercrimes Unit Announces 100 Percent Conviction Rate< < Back to
A cybercrimes unit created by Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway five years ago has announced a 100 percent conviction rate in child porn cases that it has been involved in.
The unit, which operates in a small Frankfort office, helped investigate and prosecute 114 cases.
Before the unit was formed, police in Kentucky had long waits for federal agencies to process evidence. Now, they usually have to wait only a week.
Conway says work by the unit "has made the Internet a safer place for Kentucky kids."
