MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia Radio Corp. wants a judge to stop two companies from participating in West Virginia University's attempt to award a new contract for multimedia rights to certain athletic events.

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in Monongalia County Circuit Court says North Carolina-based IMG College and a subcontractor, West Virginia Media Holdings, should not be allowed to bid.

Radio company owner and Morgantown businessman John Raese says he doesn't plan to compete for the contract. But he calls the current process a sham.

WVU is rebidding the 12-year contract after a review by the state attorney general's office found "significant errors" in the original deal inked with IMG in January.

WVU declined comment on behalf of several officials named as defendants.

West Virginia Media executives did not immediately return messages Thursday.

IMG College represents more than 200 collegiate properties nationwide including Ohio University.
