Large Amount Of Heroin Seized In Scioto County

Officers with the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force say they have seized nearly 500 grams of heroin – thought to be the largest single seizure in Scioto County history.

Four people have been arrested on felony charges of trafficking and possessing heroin.

According to a news release Ohio State Parks officers notified the task force that the large amount of heroin and cash had been found on ODNR property.

Investigators found the heroin, with an estimated street value of $74,000, and $12,000 in cash at the property in West Portsmouth.

Officers arrested Phillip Hanson-Bass, 24, and Robert Woods, 24, during a traffic stop as a result of the investigation. Both men are from the Dayton area. Officers found a loaded handgun and more than $1000 in cash inside their vehicle along with evidence linking them to the heroin.

Two other people, Ryan Starks, 21, and Sashia Wood, 28, both from Portsmouth were also arrested during a separate traffic stop.
