Deputies made the largest heroin bust in Meigs County history.

Sheriff Keith O. Wood says Andrew "Luke" Barstow of Pomeroy and Anthony R. Wervey of Middleport, both 23, were arrested and charged with aggravated possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff Wood says the two men were located at a gas station along with Barstow's baby boy.

Inside their vehicle, deputies found 7.5 grams of black tar heroin along with pills and syringes.

Deputies also searched the home where the men were staying, and found a substance believed to be cocaine, along with more syringes.

The street value of the heroin is $4,500.

Other charges are pending in the case.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Meigs County Department of Jobs and Family Services.
