An Ohio city has been blasted with offensive and misleading fliers fraudulently claiming to be from the local government.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that last week Pickerington police sent an advisory to residents of the Columbus suburb letting them know that fliers showing the city's logo and listing various upcoming events including a farmer's market offering "medicinal marijuana treats" were not put out by the city.

The farmer's market is real but does not sell marijuana.

The fliers that were left at homes in various neighborhoods also listed a citywide vote to build an electrical fence to keep poor people out of the city and an American Red Cross event offering on-site circumcisions.

The newspaper reports police do not know who printed and distributed the fliers.
