On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, hosts Carolyn Lewis and Sara Lorenz talk with David Newell, aka Mr. McFeely, of the classic PBS series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
In town to attend the Athens International Film and Video Festival, Newell talked with Lewis and Lorenz about the early days of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, how he ended up playing Mr. McFeely and the impact Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood has had on multiple generations of children.
“What you see is what you get. It’s not an act. I worked with Fred [Rogers] for 35 years, I think. And he was always Fred,” said Newell.
