Man Restores Green Goblin Head From Stephen King Horror Film< < Back to
A southern Ohio collector has restored an 8-foot goblin head to its glossy green glory, decades after the prop's glowing eyes were used to signal imminent attacks in the 1986 Stephen King horror film "Maximum Overdrive."
Tim Shockey of Piketon started the work as a personal project and began documenting it on Facebook last year. He turned it into a moneymaking venture after hearing from fans of the film.
The movie buff now takes the prop to horror-film conventions. He says he hadn't realized there's a market for such an exhibit.
Shockey bought the head in 1987 from someone who'd purchased it at a junkyard. He displayed it at a video store and then kept it in his backyard for years before he began restoring it.
