A bridge in Mineral Wells, WV has been named in honor of longtime Delegate Larry Border.

Border died in June 2011 after suffering a stroke. He was 60.

A ceremony renaming the bridge on State Route 14 was held Friday.

Border's widow, Delegate Anna Border Sheppard, says he was committed to not only building the bridge, but also to improving the highway.

Sheppard was appointed by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin to serve the remainder of Border's term.

Border, a Republican, had represented Wirt and Wood counties in the Legislature since 1991.
