Sizemore Commits To Wrestle For Ohio
< < Back to sizemore-commits-wrestle-ohioOhio Wrestling’s 2013 recruiting class is on campus and ready to start a new year, but the program is already busy bringing in the next crop of recruits, as it brought in its first of the 2014 class Monday night. Dakota Sizemore verbally committed to Ohio via his personal twitter account.
Heading into his senior year at Archbishop Moeller High School, Sizemore already has three trips to the OHSAA state wrestling tournament under his belt.
Last season as a junior, Sizemore capped off a 31-6 record with the state title at 160 lbs. The 160-pounder avenged a regular season loss to Quinton Hiles of Brecksville-Broadview Heights, and beat Hiles in the championship bout, 9-3.
As a sophomore Sizemore wrestled at 152 pounds and claimed third place at the state tournament. Earlier that season he helped lead Moeller to a second place finish at the Disney Duals, an event in which 40 high schools competed. Sizemore was voted the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament after finishing with an 11-0 record and gold medal.
Sizemore coupled his state wrestling title with a football championship in the same school year. Sizemore, a defensive lineman, and Stephen Langenkamp, a 2014 football recruit who committed to Ohio earlier this year, were on Moeller’s 2012 state championship roster.
Per NCAA rules, all early commitments do not become official until a commit signs a national letter of intent. Sizemore can sign an NLI as early as Nov. 13, 2013.
