The Mid-American Conference released its preseason polls for both men’s and women’s cross-country today. The Ohio women’s team came in at third while the men’s team is ranked seventh.

The Bobcats women’s team returns its top runner in senior Juli Accurso, who will look to continue her recent success and win her third straight individual MAC title this year. The men’s team returns senior Noah Hawkins, who did not compete in 2012 but earned Second Team All-MAC honors in 2011.

The Toledo Rockets, who have won three straight MAC Tournament Championships, took the top spot in the women’s poll. The Eastern Michigan Eagles, who are also looking for their fourth straight MAC Tournament Championship, received the top ranking in the men’s poll.

Miami is the other team ahead of Ohio in the women’s preseason poll. Central Michigan came in second in the men’s poll with Akron rounding out the top three.

Ohio’s men’s and women’s teams will both open their seasons in Oxford, Ohio, at Miami University on Sept. 7.
