UPDATE, Sept. 2, 10:14 p.m.: Herman was added to the New York Giants' practice squad Sunday after being waived Saturday.
The former Ohio lineman was the only Giants draft pick not to make the 53-man roster.
Former Ohio offensive lineman Eric Herman was released by the New York Giants Saturday in the team’s final round of cuts.
Herman was the only Bobcat taken in the 2013 NFL Draft, selected in the seventh round by the Giants.
The Giants inked Herman to a four-year $2.2 million deal on May 22, suggesting the former Ohio lineman would make the 53-man roster.
Any team can now claim Herman on waivers.
This article has been changed to reflect the following correction: Herman was released Saturday, Aug. 31, not Sunday.
