The University of Northwestern Ohio dominated Rio Grande Saturday evening, shutting out the RedStorm with a whopping score of 12-0.
Sarah Huchet and Taryn Parode combined for seven out of twelve goals, while Frida Bremer and Laura Stone contributed two goals for the Racers. The Racers earned their fifth impressive win as a first-year program off to a superb start.
Rio, who was coming off a record-breaking 16-0 win over Kentucky Christian on Wednesday, was hurting when the RedStorm were outshot Saturday 31-3 against the Racers.
Junior net-minder Allison Keeney had eight stops for the RedStorm in a losing cause, which put them at 3-3 overall on the season.
The RedStorm are scheduled to face Georgetown College in its Mid-South Conference opener on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Evan E. Davis Field.
