Federal investigators will join state and local authorities probing a weekend bus crash that injured at least 35 people in southwest Ohio.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that U.S. Department of Transportation officials plan to inspect the Greyhound bus. It struck a tree and fence and flipped on its side before stopping in a cornfield just off Interstate 75 near Monroe, Ohio, early Saturday morning.

The Department of Transportation didn't respond immediately Monday to a message seeking comment.

Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton says two of four people taken there by CareFlight were admitted, one with a broken leg. At least six remained in hospitals Sunday evening.

The bus was carrying 51 passengers from Cincinnati to Detroit.

The State Highway Patrol and Butler County sheriff's office are investigating, as is Greyhound.
