Ohio Women’s Cross Country runner Juli Accurso has been named Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of September 16-22.
Accurso takes home the honor for the third time, possessing a cumulative 3.882 GPA as a French/Linguistics double major.
The two-time All-American has competed in two of the team’s three races this season, as she sat out the Ohio Invitational, as did several of Ohio’s top runners. Accurso placed third individually in the six-kilometer race and finished in 21:05.00 at the Wake Forest Invitational, helping Ohio to a second place finish.
Accurso is one of Ohio's most decorated athletes with two individual MAC titles and an NCAA Regional victor which allowed her to finish 38th at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships last fall.
Accurso and the 'Cats are set to run again next Friday, October 4 in the All-Ohio Championship in Cedarville, Ohio.
