The Rio Grande RedStorm (7-12, 2-9) suffered another straight-sets loss as they were downed by the 19th-ranked Georgetown College Tigers, 30-28, 25-23, 25-16.

The first and second sets were heartbreaking for the RedStorm. They held a four-point lead in the first game and a three-point lead in the second, but Rio Grande was unable to close out either game. The Tigers’ largest lead in both sets was two; they didn’t reach a two-point lead until closing out each set.

The final game was all Georgetown. It never trailed and the RedStorm tied the set just once when the score was 1-1. The Tigers won the set by a score of 25-16, giving them the match.

Alex Phillips and Betsy Schramm led the RedStorm offense with eight and seven kills, respectively.

Rio Grande will be back in action Friday when they travel to Lourdes University. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
