The Marietta Pioneers lost for the fourth straight time Saturday as they lost to the John Carroll Blue Streaks 4-0.

The Blue Streaks attacked the goal all game as they fired off 33 total shots and 12 shots on goal. Marietta, however, only had five total shots and one on shot on goal.

John Carroll scored its first goal when Mariusz Trzeciak put it past Marietta goalkeeper Chris Stollar in the 37th minute. Then in the 41st minute, the Blue Streaks doubled their lead when Tim Delaney scored a goal off Trzeciak’s assist.

In the 69th minute, Jimmy Mattina scored on a header to put John Carroll up 3-0. Wycliffe Odhiambo scored the Blue Streaks’ fourth and final goal of the day in the 83rd minute.

Marietta’s offensive woes continued Saturday as the team was shut out for the fourth time this season. It was the eighth time that the Pioneers have failed to score multiple goals in a game this season. All eight games have resulted in losses.

Marietta’s (3-9, 0-3) next game comes against Muskingum University (5-7, 0-2) on Tuesday. John Carroll (10-2, 3-0) will look to continue its strong play Tuesday when it takes on Mount Union (7-6, 2-1).
