Ohio Baseball announced its 2014 season schedule earlier on Monday. Among the dates are 24 Mid-American Conference matchups, 23 away games, and five series against teams that competed in the NCAA Championships in 2013.

The Bobcats start their season off with a month-long tour down south that will begin in Cullowhee, N.C., on Feb. 13 against the West Carolina Catamounts and comes to a close against the Longwood Lancers in Farmville, Va., on March 9.

Within that tour is a stop in Wilmington, N.C. in the UNCW Tournament consisting of matchups against Liberty and UNC-Wilmington, with a pair of games played with each team.

After the tournament, the ‘Cats will travel to the Peach State as they square off against both Georgia Southern and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in Statesboro, Ga., starting on Feb. 28.

Home plate at Bob Wren Stadium will finally be dusted off as the Bobcats return to Athens almost a month after their season opener. Marshall will be the first target for the Green and White for their home opener on March 13.

Following the matchup against the Thundering Herd is a four-game series against St. Bonaventure to extend the Bobcats’ stay at home.

MAC play begins March 21 in a three-game series against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

Following a matchup against Kent State at home, Ohio will take an almost two-week road trip to Marshall, Akron, Dayton and Toledo.

Following their road trip, the ‘Cats will return to Athens for an homestretch beginning April 22 with Morehead State, then fellow MAC members Eastern Michigan and Buffalo, and closing it out on day eight with Pittsburgh.

After a final road trip to Bowling Green, the Bobcats’ season will come to a close as a much-awaited rivalry series against conference rival the Miami RedHawks begins on May 15.
