Ohio (2-1) continues its nonconference schedule Wednesday, as it heads to Baltimore, Md., to take on the struggling Morgan State Bears (0-3).

The Bobcats are coming off a hard fought 76-72 win over Valparaiso. Junior forward Maurice Ndour led the way for Ohio with 23 points, six rebounds, five blocks and four steals in the game. Ohio jumped out to an early 20-8 lead thanks to hot shooting, as the Bobcats started the game by going 8-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from 3-point range.

The Crusaders switched from a man-to-man defense to a 2-3 zone, which caused the Bobcats’ offense to go cold. The 3-pointers that were falling early in the game began to miss, allowing Valparaiso to claw its way back into the game.

Ohio’s defense, however, remained strong as the Bobcats held Valparaiso to 37 percent shooting (20-of-54) in the game. Ohio also forced 19 turnovers.

Morgan State enters the game against Ohio on a 3-game losing streak. The Bobcats and the Bears share a previous opponent, as Morgan State lost to Ohio State, 89-50, in their first game of the season.

In the Bears’ three losses this season they have been defeated by an average of 25 points per game.  Morgan State struggles on the offensive end, as the Bears only average 62 points per game. The defensive end is not much better for the Bears, as they give up 83.7 points per game.

Justin Black leads Morgan State in scoring with 21.0 points per game. However, the Bears do not have another player that averages double digit points per game. The closest is Anthony Hubbard, who averages 9.7 points per game.

Ohio will look to move to 3-1 when it faces off with Morgan State at 7:30 p.m. in the Hill Field House on Wednesday.
