Bluesman Reverend Freakchild stopped by the studios of WOUB on his way back home to New York City.

Freakchild has been on a cross-country road trip performing and promoting his new recording of old tunes, Chaos and the Country.

Although he writes and performs his own blues-inspired music, this most recent release is a collection of classics penned by country blues giants Willie Dixon, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Lightnin’ Hopkins and others.

The Reverend played “Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed” on his National Resolectric guitar and expounded to WOUB’s Mark Hellenberg on the blues, the Buddha and a Lakota contrarian shaman.
