Looking Through The Sky: Landscape Painting by Michael McEwan opens at the Zanesville Museum of Art Saturday, Nov. 30 with an opening reception scheduled for Dec. 6 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

McEwan, one of Ohio’s pre-eminent landscape painters, trained at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.

During his time in Washington, he spent many hours in the museums, learning from the great American painters.

Later, McEwan returned to his native Columbus to attend graduate school at Ohio State University. He established a studio from which he actively paints and teaches classes.

McEwan finds the beauty in the changing of the seasons, light conditions that evoke the complex moods of nature, and blends his familiarity with art history with his personal observations.

Looking Through The Sky: Landscape Painting by Michael McEwan will run Nov. 30 through Jan. 4. Visit www.zanesvilleart.org for more information.
