State Championship Game To Be Televised

A date with the two-time defending D-VI state champion Marion Local waits just around the corner for Trimble. The Tomcats will be fighting for their first state title in school history when they take on the Flyers on Saturday, Dec. 7. at Massillon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

The D-VII bout will be televised and can be watched on FSN/SportsTime Ohio (STO). The game will be shown on Time Warner Cable (TWC) channel 99 in southwest Ohio. The OHSAA Radio Network will broadcast the game as well. Marion Local has six state titles to their name and maintains the best playoff record in OHSAA history (52-9) with a .852 winning percentage. The Flyers are a perfect 14-0 after defeating Delphos St. John's last weekend to advance to the championship.

The Tomcats come in with a 7-9 record all-time in the playoffs and are making just their 10th playoff appearance. Trimble held off Western Reserve 14-10 on Saturday night earning the opportunity to compete for a title.

Kickoff from Massillon is slated for 7 p.m.
