The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Tuesday that Ohio sophomore setter Abby Gilleland and junior outside hitter Kelly Lamberti have been named to the Northeast All-Region team.

In addition, graduate middle blocker Alexis Pinson earned All-Region Honorable Mention honors in her lone season as a Bobcat.

Gilleland and Lamberti are the only student-athletes on the Northeast All-Region team that play outside of the Big Ten Conference.

Gilleland was the floor general for a top-25 nationally ranked offense. She ranked third in the Mid-American Conference in assists per set (10.79) and hitting percentage (.347) on her way to earning the 2013 MAC Player of the Year award.

Lamberti, the 2012 MAC Player of the Year, earned First Team All-MAC honors in her junior season with a team-high 3.14 kills per set average. She also posted 2.80 digs per set and logged 14 double-doubles on the year.

Pinson finished in the top 25 nationally in blocks per set in her graduate season in Athens. She was a four-time MAC Defensive Player of the Week selection. Pinson led the MAC in hitting percentage (.359) during conference matches, and her 145 block assists rank second all-time among single-season totals in Ohio history.
