The season may be over, but the awards still roll in. The NAIA came out with its All-America soccer team Wednesday and it featured three RedStorm athletes.

Luiz Filho, a sophomore forward, earned First Team honors while leading the NAIA with 28 goals. He netted six game-winning goals.

Filho scored four goals in a game against Shawnee State on Oct. 12, and also recorded three consecutive hat tricks in wins over Bluefield (Va.), Point Park (Pa.), and Pikeville (Ky.). Over a six-game stretch that included these three victories, Filho scored 17 goals.

Senior midfielder Maximilliano Viera and junior keeper Jon Dodson picked up Third Team honors. Viera scored six goals and passed out seven assists. Dodson started in the net in all 22 of the RedStorm’s matches and allowed only 20 goals over 1,841 minutes of play.

The RedStorm finished the year 16-3-3 and won the Mid-South Conference tournament before being bounced in the third round of the NAIA tournament by Ashford (Iowa). The RedStorm finished seventh in the final coaches poll.
