Marshall University's new campus master plan recommends renovating nine buildings and demolishing two others.

Renovation projects include the Memorial Student Center, the Cam Henderson Center, Gullickson Hall, Twin Towers, Morrow Library, the Science Building, Corbly Hall, Jenkins Hall and Prichard Hall.

The 10-year plan recommends demolishing Holderbly and Laidley Halls because of the high cost of improvements. The plan says these buildings also have limited potential for renovations.

The Herald-Dispatch reports that Marshall's Board of Governors approved the plan on Wednesday.

President Stephen Kopp told the board that the plan emphasizes reinvesting and improving existing facilities, and expanding facilities where needed.

The plan also must be approved by the Higher Education Policy Commission.
