Two Chauncey area residents have been jailed after Athens County's Narcotics Enforcement Team purchased heroin at their home.
Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly reported the Friday buy was made at the home of Scott A. Stepp, 28, and his wife, Latasha R. Stepp, 28, at their Coal Run residence.
Kelly said a young child was present at the residence.
Athens County Children Services was contacted and the child was turned over to a grandparent.
In addition to the heroin, a large volume of drug paraphernalia, and $1,279.00 cash was also found.
Both Stepps were arrested and transported to SEORJ.
Scott Stepp is being held on Parole Violation while Latasha Stepp is being held on a charge of child endangerment.
Trafficking in drugs and possession of drug charges will be presented to the grand jury for indictment.
