The Mid-American Conference has named Maurice Ndour MAC East Player of the Week after to back-to-back double-doubles in Ohio’s wins over Central Michigan and Toledo.
Ndour led Ohio in its comeback win against Central Michigan Wednesday with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The junior forward went 7-for-11 from the floor that game, and 15 of his 21 points came in the second half, helping the Bobcats erase an 18 point deficit.
Ndour followed up that performance with an even more impressive one against Toledo on Saturday. He tormented the Rockets’ defense all day on his way to 28 points and 12 rebounds. The 28 points was a career-high for the Senegal native. Ndour once again was efficient from the field, going 11-of-16 on field goal attempts.
This is the third time that Ndour has received the MAC East Player of the Week honor and this the fifth time that a Bobcat has received the award, as senior guard Nick Kellogg has also been honored with it twice this season.
Ohio travels to Kalamazoo this Wednesday to take on Western Michigan.
