The widow of an exotic animal owner who released dozens of creatures from their eastern Ohio farm has told state officials she has relocated the wild animals that survived the incident.

Marian Thompson says in a Dec. 30 letter obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press through a records request that she transferred two adult leopards, two primates and a bear to another Ohio farm.

The five animals were among those quarantined by the state and held for months after the 2011 release in Zanesville.

Thompson also says she moved two young leopards to a separate state address. She says she was forced to transfer the animals because of continual threats toward them and the property where they lived.

A message seeking comment was left with Thompson.
