The new mayor of Coalton gave her first "State of the Village" address during a recent hall council meeting.

Coalton mayor Kim Milliken started her address by stating how incredible she believed Coalton is and how part of the reason it is so impressive is because it is a historical town.

Milliken discussed the "wins" of the village, such as the $2 million grant to update the water lines. The project was not funded completely by the grant. Taxes covered the other portion. Milliken hopes that citizens "were pleased with what their money paid for."

Milliken said she may request more money so the village can be maintained at the level which the citizens are used to.

Milliken ended with "we have come along way, but for Coalton to be the community we all want, we have long way to go. I know with your help and the help of our citizens, we will continue to grow and be the village that everyone will enjoy living in and appreciate."
