Columbia Gas of Ohio will begin a major pipeline improvement project along Michigan Avenue and adjacent streets in Wellston.

The company will replace more than 31,600 feet of natural gas mainline and 370 customer service lines in the neighborhood.

The $2.3 million project is expected to start this spring and is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.

Also, during this project, Columbia Gas customers with indoor meters will have them moved permanently to the outside of their homes.

Customers affected by this work will receive a notification letter prior to construction.

Columbia Gas of Ohio is spending nearly $2 billion over 25 years to improve its more than 20,000 mile underground pipeline system.
