It was the biggest applause at Ohio's State of the State.
Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight smiled as they were given the Courage Medals by Gov. John Kasich during last night's speech.
The three Cleveland women survived being kidnapped and held hostage by Ariel Castro for 10 years.
"No one rescued them. They rescued themselves, first by staying strong and by sticking together, and then by literally breaking out into freedom," Kasich said before presenting the awards.
It was their first public appearance together.
Berry, DeJesus and Knight accepted the awards and were escorted out early.
