Ohio swimming and diving began its Mid-American Conference tournament on Feb. 27 in an attempt to redeem itself after a shaky end to the season.

Leading the Bobcats in the 500-yard freestyle finals was Laurin Williams, placing fourth with a time of 4:51.74.

Kristin Capcik represented Ohio in the one-meter dive finals, placing third with a score of 300.15.

The Bobcats’ 400 Medley Relay team, made up of Addy Ferguson, Tori Bagan, Carrie Dukes, and Haley Clark, did not finish in the top three. Ohio touched the wall at 3:44.53, about four seconds after first place. The group finished eighth in a competitive race.

Ohio returns to the blocks the morning of Feb. 28 for the second day of competition at the SPIRE Institute.
