There is a salty taste in the mouths of the Ohio Bobcats softball team as they lost their fourth straight game over the course of two days in Gulfport, Miss. This time the loss came at the hands of the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, 3-1.

Ohio picked up its only run by way of an Amanda Dalton walk that scored Adrienne Gebele with the bases loaded in the fourth inning.

The ‘Cats only hits came in the second and fourth, and though Ohio did get runners on, it never could find a consistent rhythm at the plate. The game was a continuation of the Bobcats’ struggles over the weekend, as the Ohio offense scored just five runs over the last four games.

Pitching was far from lackluster over the course of Friday and Saturday, but Ohio just did not show up offensively.

Savannah Jo Dorsey went the distance on the mound, as she pitched six innings, and allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walked batters. On top of those numbers Dorsey struck out seven Ragin’ Cajuns. She moved to 9-4 with the loss.

UL-Lafayette picked up one run in the third and then two in the fifth to go ahead and pick up the runs it would need to seal the victory.

The Ragin’ Cajuns' Jordan Wallace pitched the game to completion. She struckout 11 ‘Cats and allowed only two hits on 137 pitches. She walked six batters, but did a good job getting out of trouble throughout the contest.

Ohio moved to 12-5 with the loss and has one more game in the classic.
