Coming off a solid showing at the Wake Forest Open, the Ohio University track and field team will travel to Nashville, Tenn., on Friday to compete in the two-day Vanderbilt Black & Gold meet.

The Bobcats will be looking to improve upon last week’s performance and qualify more athletes for the Mid-American Conference Championships. Ohio will be the only MAC team competing, so it will give the ladies a chance to get some more practice in before going up against conference opponents.

The meet will begin Friday at 4 p.m. with women’s hammer throw and triple jump, along with men’s shot put and pole vault. Running events will start at 5 p.m. with the women’s 200-meter dash.

Upon completion of the 1,500-meter invitational, the meet will break until Saturday morning. Women’s discus will begin the day at 10 a.m. Running events will pick back up at 11:30 a.m. with the women’s 2,000-meter steeplechase.
