Ohio pitcher Savannah Jo Dorsey was named Mid-American Conference East Co-Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Dorsey pitched in both games of a series split with Buffalo over the weekend. On Saturday, Dorsey went the distance for her 12th complete game of the year in a 4-0 loss. The sophomore gave up no earned runs and struck out seven in the loss.
On Sunday, Dorsey pitched four scoreless innings of relief in her 14th win of the year. Dorsey gave up just two hits and two walks in her relief appearance. She took the circle with the bases loaded and no outs in the fourth and came through for the 'Cats in a tight situation.
She went 1-1 over the weekend and allowed no runs, while striking out 10 batters.
She leads the MAC in wins as well as strikeouts with 155.
Tori Speckman received the other half of the award. She pitched a no-hitter against the ‘Cats on Saturday.
Dorsey will be back in the circle on Wednesday when Ohio travels to Ohio State to take on the Buckeyes in a doubleheader.
