The National Weather Service has issued flood and flash flood watches for much of eastern and northern Ohio.

The alerts follow several days of rain, and come a day after a possible tornado hit in central Ohio.

Communities under a flash flood watch Thursday include Coshocton, Guernsey and Muskingum counties.

Flood watches have also been issued in Athens, Jackson and Morgan counties, among others, and in northern Ohio in Crawford, Marion and Richland counties, among others.

Officials say a possible tornado destroyed several houses and farm buildings in Greene County but no injuries have been reported.

The Dayton Daily News reports fire crews rescued seven people from the basement of a house that was flattened near Cedarville.

Officials say all of them are OK.
