Free Family Swim At Muskingum Recreation Center

The Muskingum Recreation Center facility will be dedicated on Monday, June 2, with an evening of free fitness activities and a family swim at the new facility located on the north side of the Ohio University Zanesville campus.

Activities will include group exercise program trials such as Zumba, Zumba with Kids, Sculpt and Strength, Pilates, Pound, combine training, BARRE class, cycling, water classes, aqua Zumba and water aerobics.

The trial classes will be offered in rotation between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. and then again from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition, there will be activities for the kids with basketball mania, kids Zumba and more. Captain Rick's Diving Adventure will also be offering "Discover Scuba" in the pool for people to experience scuba.

The building ribbon cutting ceremony will take place from 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. with Ohio University President Roderick McDavis on hand to join in the celebration. The Center’s board members and staff will be on hand to do tours and refreshments will be served. The evening’s festivities will culminate with free open swim from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Community partner organizations for the Muskingum Recreation Center include Genesis HealthCare System, the Muskingum Family Y, the Muskingum Community Foundation and Ohio University Zanesville.
